Questions about Radon Testing

  •  How Does Local Radon Testing Perform Radon Measurements?  At Local Radon Testing, we use Continuous Radon Monitors (CRMs) for all radon measurements. Each test runs for 48 hours. Upon arrival, we determine how many monitors are needed and where they should be placed. Every lowest-level foundation suitable for occupancy must be tested. For example, in a split-level home with a basement, a slab-on-grade room, and a room over a crawlspace, three monitors would be required.

  •  Are all Measurement Devices the Same? What Type Local Radon Testing Use? Not all radon measurement devices are the same. At Local Radon Testing, we exclusively use Continuous Radon Monitors (CRMs) for our tests. These monitors continuously record radon levels and provide hourly averages, generating 48 separate results over the testing period. This offers a significant advantage over other devices that provide only a single result for the entire test duration. Additionally, all our monitors are cross-checked and calibrated as required to ensure accuracy.

  • My Neighbors home failed a radon inspection does that mean mine probably will? No it doesn't, nor does it mean if all your neighbors passed a test you will. There are too many factors specific to your home and property. The only way to know is to test.
